To become a member of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians, you must be a descendant of the signors or beneficiaries of the 1830 Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. You can apply for membership by providing the following:
A copy of your driver's license or other official picture ID
A pedigree chart
A copy of your birth certificate
A $25 application fee, payable by check or money order
Additional documentation of your bloodline, if needed, such as court records, affidavits, DNA or blood tests, or school records

Our website offers a section dedicated to the history and culture of our Tribe. You can also purchase the book, They Say the Wind Runs Red, visit the Cultural Center and Museum, or attend one of our events.

Some events, such as our Annual Pow Wow are open to the public, while others are private ceremonies or events for Tribal Citizens only.

Our tribal grounds are limited to those deemed members of the MOWA Choctaw Indian Tribe.

We have a local police department and clinic to facilitate our tribes health and safety.

Our Office and Housing Authority post regularly about job opportunities within the tribe, the local community, and bids that hire MOWA Choctaw Members for specific contract work.
